Week 2

Stormy Shores

Very chilly this week, Sally has been down with the lergy since Christmas, and I’m just developing a similar crippling cough as I type. C’est la vie, tis the time of year for it.

Sad day Today, saying goodbye to Derek Palmer, my father in law, grandad to my kids, you will be missed.

Due to this and my own foolhardy efforts (more in a minute), a slow pot week, lots on but no improve to push, which I’m sure the clay appreciates.

Anyway, Sunday is usually my doing day, my get up and throw pots kind of day, long make list of new Etsy orders, the restaurant order as I touched on last week to do, so after a coffee or 3 I started to plan my day, Sally was rearranging the lounge and needed the TV moving, once that was done, she was good. Sure nobody is moving the dresser on your own, but I can pop back in for that.

My mother in law was cocooned (her words) in varying furniture ready to shuffle the room around, so we only thought it fair to plug the TV back in so she could watch that as we scurried around her. Hmmm no power there, so I grab an extension lead, toss (super gently I might add) and it taps the corner of the screen pathetically, well seems that pathetically is enough with modern TVs, my 55” is now dead!

With nobody to blame but myself, plans change, we now have to go and replace the TV, yay, love an un budgeted spend.

Long story short from here on in as you can’t just ‘pop out’ to buy a tv really, asked for many in our local curry’s (30 minute drive away), and all were either too big for the car, or mostly, out of stock. We finally after a couple of hours finally manage to procure one.

Needless to say by the time we got back, installed said TV on the other side of our room,  moved the dresser etc, etc, the day had gone to utter shambles. Got a bit done in the evening and mostly got the glaze fire on that’s much needed, but sorry Etsy peeps, may be a day closer than I’d like to the dispatch date, much prefer to exceed expectations rather than just meet them.

Anyway, exciting kiln opening on Tuesday, got some cocktail glasses in the works for the restaurant I work at, hoping the come out as envisaged and I can nail that one so crossing everything.
